It is quite common to fall sick after travelling. The reasons can be exposure to bacteria or virus during your travel to new place and environment. You also meet many people at your travel destination which makes your body is prone to catch disease. Here are things to do to avoid any sickness after travelling happily:

  • Before travelling, make sure your body is in good condition. If you are unwell, don’t force yourself to go travelling. It will only make your body worse during and after travelling. Besides, it will make your body more prone to bacteria and virus infections. You may need to take a shot especially if you are going to visit developing country.
  • While travelling, make sure to stay hydrated by drinking enough water especially when your schedule includes more on physical and outdoor activities. It is also important to maintain your fitness during travel. You don’t have to skip your workout regime when travelling. You can do a short workout in your hotel room for fifteen minutes. Or, you can also maintain your fitness by going to the nearest attraction on foot.
  • Make sure you know exactly what you eat in your travel destination. There might be new ingredients you may have never known before which can cause your body to react negatively. Thus, always see the ingredients or ask the waiter if you order dish you have never known before.
  • You might get infected during travel but the symptoms of sickness only shows few hours or days after leaving your destination. If you get fever after travelling, it may be a sign of your exhaustion or fatigue. It can also be a sign of your body trying to adapt to its natural environment as before. However, you need to be cautious if your fever doesn’t go down in few days or getting worse. It may be more serious problems you got. Thus, ask for medical help if it happens to you. Explain thoroughly everything you have done and eaten during travel to your doctor so they can make the right diagnosis. This is the best way to prevent you from getting more serious disease you may catch during travel.
